Snow Day

Yep,another snow day. Kind of a double edged sword. I get to work downstairs but I first have to find something to work on, as I am in a bit of a dry spell right now. Since I am a teacher it looks like we are now going to finish school around June 14th. No kidding. We have no snow days build in and I am hoping the state votes to forgive us some days. So,time to get productive. Enjoy the weekend.

I love this little art quilt.

President's Day

Happy  President's Day! (almost) I had planned to do some much needed work around the house but we have volleyball tournaments all weekend. So, I will be taking my sketch book and get some sketching done in between games. If you have never been to an all day tournament the girls play, referee and sit. Not necessarily in that order but some combination there of and the pattern repeats. So there is a lot of down time.
Here are some pictures from my most recent swap.

Cute wood grain looking box filled with lovely treasures.  You can really pack a lot in that little space!

How great is this? A pirate's treasure chest!

Check out crafster.org for fun swaps.

Needlebook

I am a member of http://www.craftster.org and participate in as many swaps as I can. The two most recent ones were a needle book and matchbox swap. If you have not checked out http://www.craftster.org yet it is pretty cool and you can find lots of good information and people to chat with. So here are a couple of photos of what I sent and what I received.
This came from my partner, southern flower, and isn't it beautiful!

The pen is to mark the tabs so I can organize my needles by size.

This was one of the matchboxes I sent. The graphic is from http://www.tentwostudios.com.
They have great stuff ,both to sell and to look at.

Red Robin

There is so much snow here and I am dragging my boot clad feet to go shovel. I think we have about 12-14" drifted in the driveway and I have new piano students headed over this afternoon-maybe. So I would rather stay inside and paint, sew, read really anything but it has to be done.
This sweet little robin quilt was made using paper, yes the yellow and blue are hand made paper, and a bird that I printed on fabric. The eggs I made from Model Magic and hand painted. Sweet!
