Sorry about the pins on the next pictures but I was in a rush to get them photographed and tagged. Usually I forget to take pictures and regret it later but not this time. Next time I will stage them differently but this works for now.

New Swap Pictures

Happy Thursday to everyone. Hope you have exciting plans for this weekend. I am looking forward to a nap or two so I can catch up on some much needed rest. I wanted to share the pictures from the
most recent swap I participated in on crafster.org. The theme was "Jump Start Your Art Journal". Your partner chose from a list of art journal themes and made the journal (first time making for many of us) and embellished no more than half the pages. My partner chose steampunk from my list and the follow is what she created. I really love this journal. The pages are tea dyed watercolor paper.

 Lots of lovely gears.

I love this new header and background for my blog. A wonderful graphic artist creates and shares them so be sure to check out her site-http://itkupillishop.blogspot.com. This is the second set that I have downloaded and it went much faster this time. The first time it took forever because I was new at moving stuff around and getting everything in the right place.

Art Journal Swap

I just finished up another swap through crafster.org this time for an art journal. The idea was to give your partner a head start on a journal by adding your own art work to some of the pages and making the journal. I received from my partner today and am posting pictures of her amazing work. I had three themes listed and she chose steampunk. three themes listed and she chose steampunk.
Lovely tissue that I saved for another project.
Some of her favorite items to craft with.
Opening page with envelopes to hold treasures.
 Amazing art work.
Love this tree and little bird.
I am not sure what type of paper this is put I really like it and want some of it for my stash.

New Goodies

I just finished up another swap with crafster.org. This one was a swap for Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) a favorite holiday of mine. My partner, mezcraft, sent some amazing things and here they are.

First, a lovely marigold pin.

The packages came wrapped in this great fabric.

This artist shrine is amazing. If you look closely you will see two of my paintings hanging inside!

Great bead work on this. Our beloved greyhound.

And last but not least you can't have Day of the Dead without a skull.

Art Journal Pages and Help

So, I figured out how to change and background of my blog. I saved the code from my original one and then tried to play around with the header and have lost it. I have the code still but can not get it back where it belongs. Can anyone help???? In the mean time here are some new art journal pages.

These three are from Pam Carriker's new book. Love that book.

This is my first attempt at using magazine images.

Art Journal Pages

I have been working on several art journal pages and I think I have the scanner mastered so I am posting a number of pages that I have been working on in the last few weeks.

These two are straight from Pam Carriker's web site. She has a tutorial there and it is easy to follow. Kind of my first steps into art journaling.

This fellow is on one of the prepared background that Pam talkes about in her book. You make up a bunch so that you have them ready when creativity strikes.

Again,a prepared background with religious cards and items from our trip to Bath,England.
I really like this one. It started out pretty rough so I kept adding stuff like stamps, oil pastels and I stenciled gesso on using a flower and vine stencil to give it some texture and depth.
These clowns are a demo for altered artifacts. She puts together different images and has them for sell in her etsy store and I got put on the list to make up a sample of what you could do. I have a second example to finish-hopefully tonight-and get over to her.

4.95 Swap

I am a member of crafster and am just finishing up the fill a flat rate box/envelope swap. If you have never swapped before this is the place to start. They have tons of different swaps going at once. You fill out your questionnaire and are assigned a partner(s) and the fun begins. I have two partners that I sent and received from. This is box number one.

This is the entire box. The idea is to find what your partners is interested in and cram as much as you can in a flat rate box or envelope. You can get alot of stuff in a flat rate box!The bundle of floss is from France and my favorite color-white. Cute little folding scissors

Beads in my second favorite color-green.

I am looking forward to my second box!
