Tiny House

Just finished a "tiny house" swap over at crafster. My partner, spidermom, made me a house matchbox to hold dreams.
Very sweet.

ATC Storage

I have been busy making ATC's for a few swaps that I am in on swap-bot.com. If you have not heard of swap-bot please take and look and you may find a swap that you are interested in joining. It is a little addictive! I started out with PC (post cards) swaps and moved quickly to ATC's. You may remember that I finished a year of ATC's in 2012 and I am always looking for a way to display and store the many that I make and trade. Here is what I came up with. I have a tutorial in the works and hope to post this week.

I found this box at Wal-Mart. It was made to hold the wax melts that you put in those pots and it was free. All the better for me. This was my practice box and I covered it in circus themed paper.

The best part is you can divide it into different sections for the different themes that you are making/collecting. The back of this one shows the journal prompt swap cards that I received and the front has my Catholic Saints, St. Patrick's Day and A-Z cards. I am trying to figure out some type of tab so I can write the series name and not have to hunt and peck.

Cute Bag

I just added two new bags to my etsy shop etsy.com/shop/fabricfriend. Recycled from a pair of cargo pants. On the first I used this fabulous Matryoshka doll fabric. I love that fabric and only have a yard of it so it was hard to use and i hope I can find more. The other pants are 100% recycled using a mans shirt for the lining.

New Journal Prompt Cards

Here are the first set of cards I received in the Art Journal Prompt Swap over on crafster.org.
So the swap was to put a journal prompt or art journal technique on one side and then your interpretation on the other. Red and random lines for the first two.

Works in progress

A view of what I am working on today. I am in a swap at crafster.org making art journal prompt and technique cards. On one side of the cards you write the technique or prompt and then create your version on the other side. Good way to get new techniques and prompts. I have 30 to create by January 16th! The other are art journals drying.
Art journal prompt/technique cards using playing cards.

Drying time means ironing time!

The Wizard of Oz-Graphic 45 Album

If you love "The Wizard Of Oz" this is the book for you! This album uses the Graphic 45 paper and measures 6 1/4 X 6 1/4 X 3 1/4 and has lots of space for photos and journaling. Every page has a multiple fold outs and pockets and is embellished with ribbon, glossy accents, metal charms, fibers and glitter. I have included little known facts about the making of the movie and those involved. You could easily add pictures and your own writing to this album. Please see my etsy site for purchase information. http://www.etsy.com/shop/fabricfriend The cover has the title and poppies attached by pop dots to add dimension. Glossy accents on the red ribbons add a little sparkle. The closure is a metal button and loop.
The first page features the Tin Man and The Scarecrow. The Tin Man is on a flip out page and has a little metal heart attached.
Page two has a large pocket in the back and metal charms.
Pages three and four feature the Wicked Witch and the Flying Monkeys. They include a large pull out page and a tri-fold.
Pages five and six feature the Wizard, Dorthy and Glinda the Good Witch. Two large pockets and a flip-out complete these pages.
